At the end of September 2016 I visited Japan with a delegation from University of Applied Sciences (UAS) Technikum Wien. We had meetings at Kawada Robotics, SMC, ATR Research Labs and NAIST.
We had the chance to see a live demo of Nextage robot that is able to work together with people on factory assembly lines.
In ATR we had the chance to meet and discuss with Erica, one of the latest developments in robotic android technology.
At NAIST, we saw various robotic applications. PhD student Felix von Drigalski demonstrated a cloth-folding application implemented by using the robot Hiro from Kawada Robotics.
Our delegation paid also a courtesy visit to the President of NAIST. During this meeting we discussed about plans for future collaborations and exchange programs between UAS Technikum and NAIST. Here is the link to the post I wrote on Linkedin.
